Book Review: Resisting Happiness Matthew Kelly (2016)
Season 3 Episode 7
Welcome to this new Podcast episode. This week I chose a book that makes us reflect on our own perception of happiness. Have you noticed how many times we are the main reason we are not happy? sometimes it can be procrastination, fear of failure or simply laziness.
In this book Resisting Happiness (2016) by author Mathew Kelly, he offers his advice and guidance to makes us self-reflect on our own approach to happiness.
Start by asking yourself these four questions daily, to find what makes you happy and to help you prioritize and decide where you place your energy and time:
- Who am I?
- What is my life’s purpose?
- What’s important?
- What’s not important?
Also, we talk about good ways to feed our spirit with good and positive thoughts.
- Read books that will make you happier than earning lots of money;
- Pray or meditate to help you focus your mind; and
- Learn to embrace solitude to defeat the fear of loneliness.
Call to action: start by asking yourself the 4 questions for self-reflection. Practice it for 2 weeks and share with us what you discovered about yourself that you did not know.
Start meditating (or praying) daily and let yourself go.
