Minneapolis Uptown businesses are eligible to receive no-cost marketing and/or bookkeeping advising services with us.

Services offered:

JLLB Media partners with the City of Minneapolis to offer professional marketing services and/or bookkeeping services free of charge up to 50 hours to businesses that meet the business program. Services include:

Marketing advising
Marketing plan and strategy for small business
Social media strategy
Branding or re-branding strategy
Website design / Website creation on pre-built platform
Website audit
Bookkeeping support using Quickbooks

How we can help:

Marketing Strategy & Plan: We will work together to built a marketing strategy and actionable plan and provide marketing advise to help you reach your target audiences in Uptown Minneapolis (South Minneapolis) and beyond
Social Media: We will help you identify how to best engage your audience and grow your social media reach, and provide advise on how to effectively manage your social media channels. We can design a social media campaign for the business as well.
Branding or Rebranding: We will design a professional logotype and provide a brand guide. We will advise you on how to consistently build your business presence.
Website Design: We will design a professional website in WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace. We will guide you through the process from beginning to end.
Website Audit: we will evaluate your current website and will make recommendations for improvements to achieve your business goals. We may be able to implement those suggestions based on the platform used.
Bookkeeping Support: Quickbooks set up, organize chart of accounts, bookkeeping clean up, and bookkeeping maintenance.

What is the Uptown BTAP program?

The Uptown BTAP (Business Technical Assistance Program) is a free business support initiative funded by the City of Minneapolis. It provides up to 50 hours of one-on-one business and marketing or bookkeeping consulting services to eligible small businesses located in the Uptown district.

Who qualifies for this free support?

To qualify, your business must:

Be located in Uptown Minneapolis (between 28th Street and 31st Street, and from Bryant Avenue to Bde Maka Ska Parkway) and Hennepin Ave (between Franklin Av and 36th Street).

Be a for-profit business.

Be committed to complete the work with the advisor in the agreed timeframe.

What kind of services are available through Uptown BTAP?

Eligible businesses can receive up to 50 hours of support in areas such as:

Marketing strategy and brand positioning
Logo design and branding
Website design and SEO
Social media strategy and implementation
Marketing consulting and guidance
Bookkeeping services using Quickbooks

All services are provided by JLLB Media, a certified local firm.

Terms of Service

1. Work Sessions:

Agree to complete the work sessions within a span of four (4) weeks from the date of the intake call. Failure to complete the services within the specified timeframe may result in cancellation of services.

2. No-Show Policy:

In the event that you miss two (2) booked appointments, your services will be cancelled. To avoid cancellation, rescheduling or provide a written notification at least 2 hours in advance.

The city of Minneapolis partners with professional consultants to offer up to 50 hours of insight, technical assistance, or consulting from their advisors.
